Helen E. (Hanson) Litman, 73, of Pleasant View Road, formerly of Woodland Ave., died Monday April 22, 2002 in her home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer.

Helen was born October 9, 1928 in Duluth. She married Jack J. ''Akie'' Litman on September 23, 1950. She worked at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing to allow Jack to finish law school. Helen was a member of Temple Israel and Hadassah. She enjoyed her cabin in Ontario, playing Bridge, reading, art and music, but the most important thing in Helen's life, was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, Boubbie (grandmother) and friend.

Helen was preceded in death by her son, Seth, and her husband, The Hon. Judge Jack J. Litman.

Helen is survived by her children, Jay (Dana) Litman, Ross (Jan Zigich) Litman, Mara (Mike) Koivisto and Joe (Tracy) Litman all of Duluth, her grandchildren, Tiffany, Sam, Dan, Jack, Reid and Nichole and many loving friends.

SERVICE: Will be 11 AM Thursday at Temple Israel. Burial will be at Tiffereth Israel Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society or to Temple Israel's General Fund. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home 727-3555.
